    1. Alyx is one of my favorite characters in “Souled.” This novella gives the reader an in-depth look at this fascinating girl: her backstory, motivations, and personality. The magic part is so realistic and detailed. I liked the supportive parents (well, mother and stepdad), so present and caring. Seeing the Seth/Dani/Justin dynamic from the outside was a real treat too. Once again, the author’s writing shines through. I’m looking forward to more books in this series!

    2. I loved Souled, the novel this book is a companion to, so reading Alyx's story was a real treat. She was one of my favorite characters, so it was nice getting a story from her perspective. Also, I love tales of people finding themselves. Alyx's search for her own identity, and not molding herself to others expectations, is one I think everyone can relate to and root for her on. Looking forward to the next book in the Souled series.
