    1. I bought this guide because it has great photos and seems to include more wildlife-related activities than the other guides. But it's not necessary to have during your trip, or even as a source for reserving lodges and tours. At least half of the web links to hotels, tourist sites, etc. did not work. It is good for getting a sense of Costa Rica's history, culture, and ecology. There's a nicely mapped, recommended drive through the Guanacaste region via highway 1.

    2. All you could need to know about the different regions of Costa Rica! Wildlife, national parks, hikes, etc. Helped us plan a few things on our trip. Wish we were still there. Sad Face.
